Dear Friends, Supporters, and Members of the Englewood Community,
On behalf of the Amandla Charter School design team, we would like to say that we are greatly honored that Amandla Charter School has been approved by the Chicago Board of Education to provide college-preparatory education in grades 5-12 in the Englewood community beginning in the fall of 2008.
At Amandla, we live by the motto “Work hard, be nice” and we know our hard work has just begun. We have two main goals right now and we could use your help.
First, we are looking for excellent teachers. Amandla Charter School is currently seeking passionate teachers who are dedicated to excellence and high-standards in urban education to teach our first class of incoming 5th graders in all subject areas. If you know any great teachers who are interested in the opportunity to become part of our founding team, please tell them about Amandla and refer them to this web site.
Second, we are looking for current 4th graders who want to start on the road to college! We will open in fall 2008, with 125 fifth grade students. We are looking for current 4th graders and their families who are interested in a free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory education in the Englewood neighborhood.
